Interview a Homeless Person
My person was Cody Brown, age 53. He has been homeless since the age of 17. He is located in Toronto, Canada. He used to sleep under bridges and now under stairwells. He was an orphan, and was kicked out of his adoptive home at age 17. Since then he has been alone. He never got any support from anyone. He claims that the reason for him being homeless is not having any structure in family and government. He claims not having access to housing or schooling has caused him to become homeless. I believe that if the government did offer more opportunities for everyone, not many people would be homeless. I believe that the only way they can rejoin society and join the workforce is if the government gets together to help those that seek help. I really do have sympathy for this guy because I know that an emotional toll also has an impact on his way of living. I believe that he's like that because of the way he has been treated since birth. He has basically been on his own almost his entire life. I honestly don't believe I could help him because I couldn't change their government even if I wanted to.

Poetry Assignment 1
No Way Out From Sexual Abuse
By: Louise
And if the case is dropped
he will come back home again
and I'll be back to where I began
In a world of sadness and pain
I hope someone hears my cry
and says they understand
I just don't know what to do anymore
I'm scared and on my own
So you see I'm stuck forever
I just want to scream and shout
But there's something you have to know
That for me, there's no way out

Family Friend Poems
I chose this poem because I can relate to it very well. I also chose it because many children go through the same thing as well. I felt the exact same way and I went through the exact same thing. Surprisingly the author is also my age. This poem is about her stepfather molesting her and her mother didn't believe her. Her mother just like mine also called her a liar. He was never imprisoned, just like my stepfather. She also doesn't see a good future for herself and self-harms sometimes just like me sometimes. The author's purpose was to get her pain out and encourage victims of sexual abuse to speak up whenever someone hurts them. She also wants people to understand her and any victim of sexual abuse. The author is definitely against sexual abuse and hates it.
